bigd2832 Feb 03, 2006 01:52 PM

I have 2 baby nigerians, i got them back in october and they were easy to tell apart one was colorfull and one wasn't. I assumed I had a male and a female, but now they are both becoming extremely colorfull, how can I sex them?

Juvenile nigerians can be quite difficult to sex adults however are much easier to sex. The males are much brighter coloured all over, especially their bellies. The females my be colourful too but they usually lack the bright colouration on their bellies. Males also have larger femoral pores. My female nigerian changes from a dull orange to bright pumpkin orange during breeding season.
