My 16 y/o desert king has been acting weird for a while now. She came out of a pretty short brumation of barely more than 2 months on January 20th. She ate one mouse that day. I tried to feed her again the next week and she didn't eat. Since then she's been really active and is constantly looking around the tank. I tried to feed her again yesterday and she refused to eat again. When i was taking the mouse out of the tank she started shaking her tail! She had never done this before and it really caught me off guard that she was threatening me. I had to take the section of bedding the mouse had been sitting on out as well because it had bled on it and she shook her tail at me again! I decided i'd better quit pushing my luck even though shes always been a well mannered snake and i finished what i was doing and left her alone.

I can't figure out why she's acting so strange. She's searching around the tank like she wants to eat, but both times i try to feed her she refuses to eat. I think it might be because shes getting pretty old. Something else that might be important, the day she came out of brumation when she ate the mouse she took it off the tongs and pushed against the ground really violently like she was trying to kill it even though it was already dead. She did this for maybe 20 seconds before pulling it into her hide and swallowing it. Don't know if that means anything but it's still strange.

Anyone have any ideas about whats wrong with her or how to help it?
