Congrats. Still having issues with my problem feeder. Everyone else ate fine today.
Are you going to change them over to f/t when they start eating regularly?

they had been eating f/t....winter hit and both started refusing, so i dropped them down to every 10 days, they ate the month of dec..... then jan they started refusing again...
so today i had 2 mice i figured i would see if they would go for them, that was quick
once it starts to get warm i will go back to f/t

My Ball python will only take live. Today, he didn't wrap around the mouse right and it sat there biting the snake as much as it could before it died. Stressed me out. I wanted to thump the mouse on the head! Going to try and see if I can trick the python to eating f/t. Its just too stressful to see what the mice do as they are trying to defend themselves.

Today when I fed Wilson (my bp) I turned around, threw the mouse in Chunk's cage (won't eat otherwise) So I turn back around and Wilson is literally chewing on a piece of bark. He was nice enough to let me pry it out of his gums and then he continued on normaly with his dinner. So as usuall, if you MUST feed in your cage then watch them at all times. Also, here is a link to proexotics which is exactly why you never leave a live mouse alone with your snake. From what I hear the snake was still very much alive and had to be euthanised. Hopefully they don't mind me using their link especially after I gave them credit for it.

Does it say a mouse did that?!! That poor, poor snake.
I only feed live to my BP and am trying to change that. I don't even feed f/t in the cages. I have aspen in some of my cges, and am not willing to take the chance of a blockage. This way, I get to handle the snakes, and I watch them eat. So I know that they ate and the food is not just sitting in the cage going bad. There are so many advantages to watching your snake eat as opposed to just throwing the food in and walking away. I agree that you should never walk away with live food in the cage with your snake.
BTW, my BP is fine. Even though it was stressful to watch, the mouse did not even penetrate the scales.

i know what you mean about getting stressed outpuja my baby bp eats live, im am switching her over to f/t, a few weeks ago she got a live mouse and it was cnashing its teeth on her.... luckily they didnt penetrate the skin either.
devi my bigger bp has not eaten in 2 months now, and she has several bite marks on her, she had them when i got her.... once i get her eating im going to switch her to f/t.
