African Bullfrog vs. Leopard gecko

KevColubrid Feb 04, 2006 07:42 AM

Ok...I've been keeping herps for a while now, and this has to have been one of the most truly bizarre things I've ever seen. I have an african bullfrog named Bomba who's less than a year old. He's the size of my fist, maybe a little bigger. Anyway, right next to his tank I had a tank with several adult leopard geckos inside. One night I was sleeping, when all of a sudden I heard what sounded like a war going on inside my african bullfrog's cage. I think you know what's coming next. SOMEHOW one of these unlucky leopard geckos had managed to not only get out of the tank, but fall into the tank with the african bullfrog. Needless to say, I got there a bit too late, and what can I say...Bomba had himself the biggest meal of his life, the greedy little thing. Just witnessing this, although it was sad, taught me to appreciate the true awesomeness that is the african bullfrog.

Ummm... how did you manage to let that happen?
That's either one crazy-talented leopard gecko, or you seriously need to keep your cages a lot more secure.

I bet you have a pretty happy bullfrog now though.
