I would not recommend using tape of any kind anywhere near your snakes. I have never used the cables because I assumed they are like the heat rocks. maybe try suction cups for cords. You can get little adhesive clamps at walmart, or home depot.

i should have explained that better, the cable is not inside the enclosure, it is attached on the outside of the enclosure.... that is where i am having the problem as the tape gets heated it comes lose...... so far in my opinion the heat cables are a waste of money
Duct tape is good with just about anything, doesn't seem to melt. I would make a trip to the store, check out the hardware dept, or house hold clips, stuff. There a lot of different types that are adhesive on the back to stick to something, and a clamp on the front to hold something else. I'll take your word about the cables though. I'll stick with my under tank heaters.

well thats what i am doing, im taking the cable back and swapping it for a uth........ the whole mess is to much to deal with, LOL.... i have had it a month and used a whole roll of tape trying to keep it attached, the manufactor says to only use electrical tape, i dont know why, uth's are much easier to work with.....
Sorry it did not work out for you. and thanks for the info because Its nice to learn from other's experiences. They probably only want electrical tape, so it does not catch fire or melt. Ah well. UTH work fine for me.
