A question about Furcifer Lateralis(carpet) husbandry.

pernads Feb 04, 2006 08:13 PM

Hello all. I have had my panther for 3 years now, and its time to get a Carpet. I have a few questions about my setup before I start looking for a new chameleon. I am going to use a UVA vapor style lamp. I am wondering, if the cage is going to be 30" high X 24" wide and 30" deep, should I get a 100 Watt or 160 Watt vapor lamp.

What is a good basking temp, ambient temp, and night temp? What humidity levels should I strive for??

Also, what bulb is better, the Big Apple Herp "Capture the Sun Bulb" or the Zoo Med Vapor lamp. I use the 24" UVA bulbs for my panther, but I want to switch over.

I think I should still use the same supplements (calcium, vitamins and rep-cal) that I use with my panther. I am hopefully sooner than later going to get a pair of lats.

If any one has any care sheets or tips on caring for some lats, I would appreciate it.
