i wouldnt worry about it swimming, not all will soak. however not eating is a concern. what are the conditions of the enclosure .. what are the temps of the hot and cool side and what is your hot spot? what is the humidity? does it have hides? these are all factors that could lead to it not eating.

cool side is 84, hot spot is 98 and i have a rock den that he stays in most of the time, only comes out to bask on the branch then goes bag in the den after 30mins or so.hes about 25ins long, i dont know how old that would make him so i dont really know what to feed it i tried a pinkie first then a rat pup it went up to it and stared at it for 5mins i thought he was going to eat it but just looked at it for awhile and it left it alone.
