Texas Rat Pics.

nodaksnakelover Feb 05, 2006 03:27 PM

Today's photo study was my male coming two year old Texas Rat. I tried best I could to capture the orange in between scales in areas of his body as best I could. Well here he is. He was very well behaved through the whole thing. Good boy. Now who says Texas Rats are nasty???

Here's another shot of this boy. Took a ton of diff shots today. But only two really stood out on their own. This is the second one. Note the red tongue!

Here, my daughter wanted to look see. She loves the snakes, always watching them. I don't let her handle them yet, for obvious reasons!

I was told last fall when I got him that he was a big yearling. That's all I've got to go on. So sometime this summer he'd be technically two. He's an interesting snake for sure. I will be breeding him to my Leucistic Texas Rat when they are both finished growing up.

Love seeing photos of kids and herps. As a life-long educator, I believe in getting children interested in herps, thus nature, conservation, etc. That's a good looking ratsnake too.

Found this one in OH a couple summers ago...TC
