Utah is one step - or one slither - closer to having an official state reptile.
Friday (2/3/06), a house committee unanimously approved a bill which would make the western rattlesnake the state reptile.
The bill is being pushed by some 4th graders from Diamond Valley Elementary.
And after watching these little lobbyists in action, the bill's sponsor is convinced he's got some budding politicians on his hands.
The reptile bill now goes to the full house for consideration.
