Amel belly

xblackheart Feb 05, 2006 07:59 PM

I had a question about my adult amel. She is pretty red with very little white. My question being about her belly. She does not have any kind of checkers. All my other amels do. I found this wierd. Here is a pic of her in the cage and two of her belly. Is this a normal belly for an amel?

I was kinda thinking that as well, but the descriptions that I have read say absolutely no white and she has specks here and there. Thanks though. Do you think the belly is normal? It reminds me of bloodreds. But, as I do not own a bloodred (yet), I do not know for sure. Does anyone have an amel with this type of pattern?

it's better than a normal checked belly.......

she is hot....maybe sunglow, if not maybe blood influences....it is red on top........

she's better than a normal amel..........they are my favorites.........I got shelves of amels........bred thousand.....and I'd take her.........LOL

Here is the picture of her from above again. So even if she has a little white(in specks here and there) she can still be a sunglow?

If she doesn't have even very faint yellow checks on the belly (I can't see any in the photo, but sometimes they are hard to see), then there is a good chance she could be an amel blood. Breed her to a "for sure" blood to find out.

Nice snake!

Thank you very much.
I checked and she has no yellow on the belly. Only a washed out orange/red.
Now all I need is an adult bloodred male.

I also have an Amel with a belly like that. Mine was sold to me at a reptile show as an Amel Stripe. Mine does not have any checkering at all on his belly either, and the whole bottom half of his belly is orange. On the white half of the belly he has really small red dots, almost like freckles. What do you think?
