Genetic terminology?

kdblack Feb 05, 2006 11:17 PM

Is there an online resouce that explains the various genetic terminology breeders use? I thought I ran across a website months ago, but no telling where that was...

Or, if it's relatively easy to explain...? =)

Try Terry Dunham's site, which has an excellent review of genetics from a herpetocultural standpoint:

holy cow, I just read through http://www.albinotricolors.com/genetics.html. pretty crazy, how do you guys keep it all straight? fantastic record-keeping I guess?

Now I feel like I should get with the breeder I got my Thayeri from, to see how well he keeps records...

This is probably the best crash course illustrated summary of genetics that I've found so far.

http://www.gekkonida.com/genetics-guide.htm is just as good as the site mentioned above, if not better just for the illustrations.

I remember doing this stuff in school science decades ago, using the Punnett Square. Very interesting stuff.
