Ordered my boaphile cage yesterday.........i can't wait.

venomousdave Feb 06, 2006 02:39 AM

I ordered a white 421D, 4x2x1 and I can't wait to get it. It is going to go on top of my white melamine Jungle carpet dislay cage. I'm so anxious.............do they usually take a long time to deliver????

I generally get mine in 3-6 weeks.
Good luck with it, you will love these cages.

I have ten coming to replace these ragedy "monster cages" I bought last year. It has only been two weeks since I ordered them but I feel like a kid on christmas waiting. Jeff said the wait was between 3 and 5 or 3 and 6 weeks.

but decided to go with the boaphile for heating and cleaning reasons.

I have 3 boaphiles right now. In about 6 months though I will have to order 2 more. Another 421D for my suriname and a 322 with shelf for my leucistic rat snake.

12 boaphile cages so far. 6 421D's , 3 421 townhouse and 3 421 condo. Also have three of the 30 slot hatchling racks.

They are really nice and once you've tried them you'll be hooked.

I just ordered 3 421Ds. I'm thinking of getting the pedestal as well. Anybody else use them? Any thoughts?
Used to use visions (in pic) and heat with lights, but now I'm looking for more snakes per square foot of floor space and heating with undertank heat. Still just have one vision cage to get rid of once they get here...

I have the pedestal and IMO don't like it. I have full stacks of 6 cages and the pedestal makes the upper cage too high to take care of without a stepstool. I am 6'1" so my height is not the issue. I do like the bottom cage off the floor. I made a rolling cart similar to a furniture dolly used by movers but sized exactly to the boaphile cage. It is about half the height of the pedestal (5 or 6 inches tall) and for me lowering the top cage by that much is the difference between needing a step or not to be able to clean etc.

If you are not planning on stacking the cages so high, the pedestal would be great. I have lots of snakes to house and can't afford the vertical space.

That's EXACTLY my concern! I AM planning to stack the cages pretty high and am pretty close to your height. I am currently using 4x4s just to get the cages off the ground for the ease of heating so I'll probably stick with that. MUCH cheaper anyway!
Thanks for the response!

Thanks again, Dave!
You just saved me the cost of the pedestal to learn that lesson!
