Anybody use a warm-mist humidifier to raise the humidity levels inside the cage?

squale Feb 06, 2006 01:26 PM

I have low humidity levels inside my BP cage. I have the Animals Plastics T3 cage and I can only keep my humidity in the 30-40% range. I use flexwatt on one side of the cage and a 150 watt CHE on the other side of the cage. My room ambient air temp is 63-67 degrees. I was thinking of getting a warm mist room humidifier and some how attaching tubing to the output of the humidifier that would go into my snake's cage? Is this possible, has anybody done this and does it work?

Thanks!

We find that putting teh warm mist just in the room wihtout any fancy tubing, etc., gets the room to about 40% and because the cage is more sealed it jumps to 60% pretty fast. Also try a water bowel on or near the heat source, and misting morning and night. There is also a product on teh market that is just a simple aquarium air pump that bubbles water in a cannister then blows this wet aior into your tank via a tube.
