Clear Shed? ?

chameleon2005 Feb 06, 2006 03:01 PM

HI guys,

I have a CF male ball that I bought late last year, I bought him because he is very very similiar to a yellow belly, in my opinion anyway!

He is quite bright yellow, with lots of HUGE flames, a faded pattern on his head, lots of blushing on the black parts of his back and an almost clear white belly.

The thing is, his sheds have been completely clear of pattern, is this normal?
Any ideas?
Just one of those wierd things?
or does it imply anything?

Thanks In Advance,

Phil

If he sheds clear then he is Hypomelanistic or, as we Ball people call them, Ghosts. I'd have to see a pic to be sure but it sounds like you have a ghost. He should be worth at least a couple of K if he comes from a known form of Hypo or if he is something new maby quite a bit more. Congrats if he is what he sounds like.

I've owned a couple animals that shed clear for a while and then developed pattern in later sheds. I've also seen and heard of a couple het ghosts that shed clear (although apparently most het ghosts don't shed clear). I'm not sure which other proven morphs except albino and presumably the various white snakes might also shed clear. So, while it certainly makes him more interesting I'm not sure it has to be something but by all means breed him and find out. Too bad it’s not a female as it would be hard to justify possibly wasting a female het ghost breeding to him or probably having to line breed starting with a normal female.
