sunglow question? Well sort of........................

VolcomHerp Feb 06, 2006 03:01 PM

Well lately I've seen some great sunglows pictured on the net. It seems that deep orange's and red's are main colors being present in selective breeding results. Has anyone seen any sunglows with extreme pinks, mainly around the saddle and madalin covered areas? I remember there was a extremely pink sunglow that was for sale at salmonboa.com but isn't listed anymore. They said it was like the only one out of the clutch like that. I guess what im trying to ask is, can a color pink be to hard to control in selective breedings, or is it just there hasn't been enough breedings yet to help focus on that color? I'm not saying I haven't seen no pink colors in a sunglow because there have been some beautiful coral sunglows with loads of pinks, but mainly around the background body colors. Sorry I'm not trying to say most sunglows haven't been yet to my taste it's just that I would love to see a solid white bodied boa with bright strong deep pink coloring in the madalin and saddles.

In the meantime, lest stare at a pink body with contrasty saddles! LOL I think its a good question and the answer probably is that we (the industry) have only touched on the potential of the Kahl Sunglow. I wish I knew the one you were referring to on our site. This one is one I just put up recently and used a close up of the tail to show his true pinks. Definitely a white bodied Sunglow with hot pink saddles would be a great looking animal! Maybe someone this season will produce something like that!

Good post that I hope the people producing Sunglows this season will contribute to. We are working with the suri influence on a couple of litters this year and hopefully that will lead to white bodies and RED saddles.

John

Thanks for the reply John! That might of been the one I was looking at a while back. Is she still on your guy's website? I think she was listed from the max litter I could tell better by the face. When are your sunglows with the suri influence going to here? Can't wait to see those I hope to see pics from ya soon with new upcoming stuff. I such a huge fan of pink because my two PC salmons I purchased from you guy's a while back, they are staying so light and the colors are getting better with age. Thanks again hope to purchase again from you guy's very soon. C ya
