Do any frozen rodent companies vacuum seal individually or only a couple per bag?

pfan151 Feb 06, 2006 03:41 PM

I would like to pick up some frozen rats, but the wife will only allow it if they stay vacuum sealed until I need them. Any help is appreciated.

Buy your own freezer. Small chest freezers are not that much money. Tell your wife that this freezer is exclusivly for the storage of rodents, but if she wanted to store some food in there it would be OK with you. It won't be long before the benefits of the extra storage space gets her over her qualms of storing food in YOUR rodent freezer.

My husband got a little chest freezer for me to keep rodents in. I used to take up just 1 shelf in our upright for mice for my colubrids but when I started with the balls those rats took up a lot more space. I think it was under $200 and it's about 16w x 24d x 34h and holds almost 2 full boxes from RodentPro.

Judging by the snakes you have listed you're going to need it eventually if you want to be able to get good prices on rats!

A buddy of mine breeds my rats. The other day, I got a frantic voicemail telling me I had to get over to his house and get all the vaccuum-packed rats out of the freezer in his garage. His wife found them and he said if I didn't get them out then he'd be looking for a place to sleep for a while. So...My freezer is now full of frozen rats...I saved the voicemail, it was so funny.

Petco use to carry Mic-on-ice mic cicles and rat cicles they came in plastic containers that held about 6 or 12 mice each but they were seperate compartments. Try going to petco for them or look up mice on ice... I think they still do it.....
