Anyone ever been to Beaver Valley show?

h0mersimps0n Jul 26, 2003 10:29 AM

Hey everyone. I have been trying in desperation to find someone online and around here with the corns I want but have been met with disappointment after disappointment.

I was pondering going the 4hr drive to Ohio show (From Erie, PA) but couldn't do it with weekend committments.

Has anyone been to the Beaver Valley show just outside of Pittsburgh? Is it good? Is there any chance people will be selling corns there?

That post about how the Ohio show has all these baby corns made me feel terrible for missing it. I've been trying so hard to find what I want...

thanks

Hi, I live relatively close to the Beaver Valley show and have been there a few times. It is an okay show, kind of small, with alot of Boas, Pythons and venemous species. You will probably see some corns there, my sister picked up Miami Phase and a snow there. As far as this area, period, there are not alot of morphs to choose from. If you are looking for the higher end morphs such as lavender, blizzard, bloodred, and such, you probably won't find it here. That is why I am breeding my own in the future from SMR stock. If I want to find something that is easy to come buy I will get it here, but other than that I will order from Don. In fact I am going tomorrow to the show to get some pinkies for the 2 I will be getting from Don soon. I am also on the lookout for a nice okeetee female to breed to my male. Hope that helps.

What corns are you looking for?
It would seem that Don, Rich, Kathy or one of the other breeders would have just about anything you may be looking for.

Looking for Miami pair with ORANGE saddles not red and looking for Charcoals with motley if possible.

No one, and I mean NO ONE has the Miami's I'm looking for avail until August. Finding a good looking charoal is also a hard thing. Kathy, Don and a bunch of others have been contacted to no avail

I'm getting up at 6am to be on the road by 7am to be there when doors open at 9am, I MUST FIND THESE SNAKES!

thanks

I just came back from that show, very small. The only corns I saw were some okay okeetees, some amels, creamscicles, and a couple of anery a's that were brown.(and some normals) This is not a big area for upper corn morphs, that is why I am going to breed my own from SMR stock. Then in a year or so I'll hit some of the shows with my corns!!!

I'll post the two I picked up at Beaver Valley. You didn't list them because I was there right at 9am and bought them pretty much as doors opened. Still no Miami's.

And by the way, the reason I'm not patient enough for August and not gun-hoe about the August Ohio show is because I'm starting medical school next monday and pretty much life and reptile road trips will be out of the question for a while.

Go easy guys, geeze, I'm just a hobbists and enthusist thats not willing to make compromises and doesn't have time on his hands.

P.S. I saw those brown "anery's" and thought they were quite wierd too.

I just figured it would be hard to find what you are looking for in this area. Most of the people around here concentrate on Kings, Boas and Pythons. That is why I am buying from Don and waiting patiently for mine to grow up. I am hoping to bring some "new blood" to this area. I am glad that you found something though. I was tempted to buy the pair of creamsicles that I saw, but I am just going to stick with a few morphs right now.

I hope you didn't take my post the wrong way. I was just kidding.
There is no sense getting a snake if it is not what you want.
So we don't blame you for trying to find what you want, now.
With me if I don't get what I want right when I have the money or the desire, something will happen to prevent me from ever getting it.

It is right around the corner. Don has sent me some pics of some really nice Miamis with Orange saddles, however, that was a while back and I don't know if he still breeds them. I'd wait the couple of weeks. Some people at the show may just tell you what you want to hear to sell you some snakes and hope they never see you again. You can't tell if a Miami is going to be red or orange at hatch. Your best clue would be to see pics of both parents and I doubt you'll be able to do that at a show.
