strange behavior

I just gave my bearded dragon a new basking spot and she has begun to sit with her mouth open in the light. Is this normal behavior???

yes it's normal, it's one way they cool themselves. they're lazy and it's just easier to do that under the light than to move lol..

Gaping (keeping the mouth open) is how dragons regulate their body temperatures. However if he is gaping constantly, I would double check the basking temperature with a digital therometer with probe or temp gun, to make sure it is not too hot.
