Feeding Pacman frogs pinkies

Lenny Jul 26, 2003 10:40 AM

My pacman frogs are just big enough to feed pinkies to. They are about 1 and a half inches long. How often should they be fed pinkies?

i personaly think that pinkies should not be part of many frogs diet because the frogs body is not built to handle it. but they can be great for fatening up, and just as a treat.

i would feed your frog at the MOST one per month and preferably 1 every 2 months.

if frogs are fed a consistent diet of pinkies they can devolop serious kidney probs, and also blindness.

I've known about the blindness causing part for a long time, but when and where did you hear about kidney problems from them?

i have read it in many books, what happens is... their digestive system is not made for digesting pinkies(or any mammals), therefore their kidneys deteriorate and the frog will die a terrible death. i dont know all the specific details, but i do know it can do ALOT of damage.
