Chunk of skin missing from newt ?

lindymae Feb 06, 2006 10:30 PM

I just got my newt home from the pet store when i notice a little chunk of skin missing. I dont know if this happened on the way home bacause he was bagged with a goldfish or if he was already like that. Do i need to do something or will it heal by itself?

if you just bought the newt, and your not attached to it yet, then i would suggest taking it back to the store you purchased it from and exchange it, if possible, just to be safe. otherwise, if you are sure that it is just a small patch of skin that is missing and not fungus, than you can put a thin coat of neosporan over the wound, and hopefully, it will heal quickly without incident.
