Boaphile Cage Questions

inletexotics Feb 07, 2006 12:35 AM

First let me say I am sure that most of what I am asking has been covered here on the forum. Forgive me but I only have time to get on once a week or so.

That said. I have been using vision cages for a while now and I do like them. It seems that when I am on the forum I have noticed a lot of people getting the boaphile cages. Are these a better cage? Obviosly is price is a factor, which it always is, the answer would be yes. I want to know othwr than price what specifically makes these cages "better".

I was also what size, or model number, is sufficient to house breeding adults?

Jeremy

I don't use either of the cages but I have seen both of them. I myself like the vision cages. The boaphile is cheaper though.

The boaphile cages are better designed for getting a boa in and out of as well as they take up less space per unit but still offer all teh room needed for adult sized animals. The vision cages are very nice, but they take up more space, the doors open by sliding instead of just hinging down out of the way like the boaphiles do leaving an opening the entire width of the cage almost. Also the inside is very smooth all over with very few crevices and corners for feces and other unwanted stuff to get into. They are just an alla round well built and designed cage for boas, period, and the price is good? Oh yea, the ol bugger Jeff is a great guy to deal with as well.

Personally, I think nothing beats a home made cage. Cause you only have yourself to blame!

Most people use a 4' x 2' for boas!

to go with Boaphile over Visions...

put simply, it's plug and play! all in one! everything included!

You don't have to buy additional heat sources, and humidifiers, and heat lamps, and drill holes and run cables for usually 2-3 heating devices and the heat lamp. I think that is a joke... personally. Then again, I have over 100 boas at all times, nd maybe the guy with 1 or 10 boas would prefer the Vision.

Here are the reasons I choose Boaphile over Vision:

Space
Size
Carpentry/Assembly
Product Design
Product Designer
Hardware
Heating choices
Sturdy Stacking that actually works and makes a stack A BREEZE to move, compared to a NIGHTMARE
Colors
Free Shipping
No Glass to clean, worry about, TRY to replace, etc.
They don't bow out, much more sturdy
plug n play =
No seperate heat needed
No seperate light needed
No seperate humidity source needed
Much better sheds (No Wire grating to suck out humidity and contribute to nose rubs)
No Silly Damns to make cleaning almost impossible

and I could list probably a dozen more, but I gotta get back to work!

Again, some people have 1 snake, some 10, some 1000 - and each one has their own preference... on size, display quality, construction, and so on... This is my top and ONLY choice.

Take care, Bci Joe

Those are the 4x2x1 cages, model 421D I believe. You can't beat them. I plan to buy another stack this year.

My animals love the boaphile cages! For all the same reasons already mentioned.... As far as size goes, I find I need to keep my LARGE females 8' in the six foot cages. This is actually two 3 footers attached. They seen to cramped in the 421. But all the other none giants are happy in the 421's. Take care, Daniel Klopson

If he does not grow into a monster, he could live out his life there.
