Sean,

Please, for the sake of forum participants, your photos need some serious help. You consistently post insanely huge photos that are completely out of focus on all forums. The exception would be SepticZone periodically seeming to resize your photos to the size of the message table, rendering them somewhat useful.

Please a) learn to focus your camera *on* the subject and b) resize your photos to a more suitable size - no larger than 800 x 600. You can always link to a larger photo. Keep in mind most people have a smaller screen resolution than your photos accomodate.

This has been bugging me for years now, finally had to get out and say something. Good luck.

Regards,
Clay

I must agree... It hurts the eyes to view an image larger than the screen..

Focusing would definately help... I would rather see the photo focused on the ackies in the foreground, than the can of miner-all in the background.. You can't even make out the patterning on the ackies, yet you can clearly read the fine print on the canister in the background..

Your ackies are very beautiful; it's a shame your photographs do not do much to represent their true colors and patterning.

I took these pics in a bit of as hurry, the basement isnt the best lit area in the house but it effects the camera focus. I deleted several pics that were very fuzzy. Its a shame the camera focus automatically on the can, not sure why. Also when I tried to take the pics the ackies kept moving to check the camera out, so I had to snap quick.
As far as resizing, hmm, the site I post pics to resizes to a size that fits perfect on the screen of my computer. Im not sure why they seem so big to a few other people. In fact it seems funny that the pictures on here are the perfect size for my computer screen they leave a 1/2 inch gap around the edge to the sides of the screen. Maybe its the resolution your monitors are set to?
The adult ackie pic was taken through a somewhat clear section of glass, so its going to be fuzzy, hard to get pics through glass. Sometimes I get better pictures, but most times its pure luck to get good ones, my monitors dont sit still that much, even the Sobek pics I have with her sitting still, they are a split second of her not moving, lol. Hopefully my next attempt they come out better, the size is another issue, they are automatically sized by photosite from 2530x1980 to a smaller size.

Hi Clay, after all these years, have you ever kept monitors, or are you still a voyeur?

To bad this is not a photo forum, as you would be on subject.

You do know that those two ackies were bred and hatched by SHVar. how cool is that? FR

I guess this is a "monitor" forum but sheesh. The picture size doesn't inhibit my computer screen. If I don't want to see them I simply won't click them no big deal.

I won't judge your picture taking skills. I don't think your goal was to enter a contest. I have my share of fuzzy pictures too. Your ackies are growing nicely, any ideas of their sex yet?

Of about a month ago. The most dominant larger ackie was looking to be male possibly, it ate mice at 13 days old, then after a few weeks the other turned the tables, now its been a long time since any sign of a disagreement between them. The less dominant animal started eating mice, now 3-4 pinkies at a time, or 2 large fat fuzzies, along with the masses of crickets they eat. The other now eats crickets only and appears female possibly. Im guessing so far by the one having a more triangular head its male, also has 2 rows of spurs, about 8 total in all. The other has 5 total spurs in one row. The tail base appears a bit different on one. The head shape on the opposite (possibly female) is long, thin, with a different shape compared to the others triangle shape. Also one has a thicker neck (possibly male).

A man that is a known breeder and has one of the most drooled over blackthroat/whitethroat monitors gets picked on for not running low resolution on his screen and not being a professional photographer.

HAHA, you have to love the Kingsnake monitor forum.
