alejandro2004 Feb 07, 2006 03:24 PM

hi i got my bearded 1 1/2 year ago, he was like 2 weeks old.
when he was a baby he eated some plants like romain, carrot, cabbage, papaya, mango, and sometimes some squash.
but when he was 8 month old he stopped eating veggies. now i cant get him to it anything just maybe some carrot and a super litle peace of papaya. last day y tried to give him like a salad mix it has everything i could think that was good for him. and he dint touch it.

how can i get him on the veggies?

I have known several picky dragons. First question is always cage set up with proper heat and uvb's. Assuming this is correct I suggest the following...feed salad early in the morning. I find if I feed bugs early they eat bugs and ignore the veggies. Also veggie variety and presentation can be important too. I actually recommend you stop the bugs for a few days. They usually show renewwed interest in salads after a few days of no bugs. Remember veggies should be 80% of their diet. Also try different textures of veggies...big pieces one day, finely chopped on another. I've even had luck with changing from a bowl to a paper plate! I have good results with squash babyfood dribbled on top of the salad, also tossing a few mealworms on the salad may help. Don't give up and remember it's a bit like raising kids!!! Don't let them eat dessert first!!LOL
Check other posts for correct veggies.
