I use them for my computers (especially since that was what they were intended for) however, I think that they would work perfectly fine for heat lamps or what have you. Get a higher ranked battery and you should be covered. Especially if you consider that if you get one of the more expensive ones, they can run a standard computer and monitor for 30 minutes or longer. The average power supply is 350W and even 400W, and that's not including the monitor. Just remember that the more devices (bulbs, heat matts, etc) that you plug into it, the less time it will be able to run them all. You might need to buy more than one just in case.
