Just as a point of observation, I've found that none of our long-term guys have a need to burrow or scatter substrate (sand, in our case). All are content as long as they're offered tight squeezes to hole up in. I really have to wonder how necessary it is to provide elaborate means of "burrowing" when they adapt so well to a "low roof." Egyptians, well, that be another matter.
