rubber maid containers

raisnok Feb 07, 2006 08:04 PM

i know alot of people use different types of sweater boxes for keeping snakes...
im wondering if anyone has ever converted a rubber maid container in into a display case??
like cutting a hole in one side and putting plexi glass there??
and screen on the top for a light?

Seems like too much work for something that wouldn't even look that nice. You can build a 4' wood cage with glass for around $70 so I will just go all out and have what I want to begin with. Feel free to try that if you would like. I just doubt it will come out like you hope.

well rubber maid containers and other brands are becoming much clearer. I have a few that i can see through very well. Sterilites, i think.

sure why not, the sweater boxes are typically used for the rack systems so if you want to use a rubbermaid or sterilite why not use one a little taller and just cut out a view area on the wide side and attach plexiglass with air holes drilled in it or ruber coated wire. It may not be as attractive as all glass but it should serve the purpose nicely. You could also just drill holes in the top but you have to secure it since I've seen corns force there way out of them by pushing against the top around the middle area up against the side.
