my white's tree frog is dormant ...is this normal?? he/she comes out like once a week at night and feeds other then that he/she hides...also i originally purchased 2 and they apparently fought at night and i didnt catch it until it was too late for the other does this mean that they were both males?? do you think he/she would be okay if i got a female??
thanks for any help

Hi there! White's Tree Frogs are nocturnal so they only come out at night. During the day they like to stay hidden as they're sleeping. I rarely get to see any of my four in action (except for feeding time). Unfortunately, they can be rather boring.

Your guy is very handsome by the way.

Now, I'm confused as to the whole "fighting issue." The White's are not known to be aggressive or territorial so it seems odd to me that you would encounter this. Are you saying that he killed your other guy? I know they can bully when eating but I've never heard of anything like that in a White's tree frog. Can you give a little more info on this?

yea i never heard of them fighting so it was really weird when i saw him biting the other...they were the same size when i got them and i bought them from the same breeder out of the same cage.....idk its weird....thanks i think he is handsome too...idk wut really i can tell ya about the fighting i saw it happen once and the one that lived would always cling to the top of the enclosure and the other would always burrow...and once the other one passed on he had began burrowing and not clinging to the sides as much...he must be weird or something lol

Usually if a tree frog is digging and burrowing.. it is a problem with temp or humidity.. either looking for a wamer or cooler spot or needs more moisture..

Can you give some insite into your tank? Size, avg temp, avg humidity etc..
