What brand proportional thermostats do you use and where do you get them?

voodoomagik Feb 08, 2006 08:43 AM

Hi, everybody,
Yep, that's pretty much it. I'm thinking of using Helix and using one temp 24/7 for my baby racks and using a night drop for snakes starting at 1-2 years old. What do you guys think?
Any other good brand names you recommend?
Where do you usually get them and how much do you usually pay?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Aaron

I use herpstat, and I buy from Matt at MG Reptiles. His prices are greqat but it's the customer service that sets him apart.

I've done buisness several times with MG and you're absolutely right! The best prices and great customer service.
I went with a Herpstat and I couldn't be happier. It's every bit as good, if not better than the Helix imho, and it's cheaper. With the Herpstat, the probe is easily replaced, as it just plugs in to the unit. I don't think The Helix is like that?
I think using the night drop function on the Herpstat is easier too, but I'm not positive on that one.
