Newest Splendida

don shores Feb 08, 2006 05:08 PM

This is a female anerythristic or axanthic splendida I got this past year. She has very nice speckled sides with the sockhead and she has the bluish tent to her. The male is even nicer but I don't have a photo of him yet. I hope to produce them soon.

I gotta admit that I'm not big on morphs, BUT that snake is spectacular, where did that come from? I haven't seen a desert king like that before. I'd love to see the male too!

I will get a pic of the male and post it.

Don
Can post the history on this new morph?

don shores Feb 09, 2006 06:25 AM

I was told they came from 2 normal Splendida that came from Ric Blair. I have some adults that came from a wild caught from Southwestern New Mexico and a wild caught from Southwestern Texas that were bred together.

WOW! I've never seen them before! How long has that splendida morph been in existence?

I'm really not sure although it's probably only been a few years since I have adults that are probably 4 years old.

Excellent Don,

Between this, the albinos and the hypos (I'm pretty sure I saw hypos at the Daytona show) there should be a lot of genetic possibilities with these underrated snakes.

Tim, I actually have double het for ghost and snow from my wild caught albino male and some hypos I have.
