''Lost World'' New Species Found in Indonesia (not Boa related)

McCarthyBoas Feb 08, 2006 07:23 PM

Here are some links with info and pictures of some of the new species found. I really like reading and hearing about stuff like this. I would love to be the first to find a new species of animal or reptile someday. But on the other hand it is a shame that mankind will more than likely destroy there habitat and exploit the new species now that we know where to find them.

I first heard the story a few days ago & it's got me itching to head down there. Kev. & I are actually planning a New Guinea trip hopefully for next year. Basically the last of the unexplored areas on earth are on New Guinea. Let's just hope they get a bit more of it protected.

Just imagine what kind of snakes are slithering around in there. That is something that I always wanted to do since a child. I always wanted to be a scientist or explorer of some sort but life took me down a different road in my teenage years. Just imagine how it would feel to be in those scientist shoes, it has to be right up there with walking on the moon or any other place that man has not messed up yet. Seeing wild stuff that has never been seen before,I can go on forever. I am glad to see that are still places out ther like this.
