SHROPSHIRE STAR (UK) 07 February 06 Sparks fly as lizards fall head over heels

As Valentine’s Day fast approaches lizard love is in the air at an Eccleshall wildlife sanctuary after two bearded dragons fell for each other following a power cut.
Staff at Gentleshaw Wildlife Sanctuary had to rehome 30 lizards after suffering a power failure a fortnight ago. However, while the electrics were being repaired the sparks were well and truly flying between one re-homed lizard and her new tank-mate.
Gentleshaw’s female bearded dragon Reggie was whisked off to Shropshire Aquatics where she was housed with Lenny, the Newport centre’s male lizard. And it was love at first sight as Lenny made his move.
The pair had a week of romantic bliss until Gentleshaw’s power supply was back up. But when the time came for the lizards to be parted, Lenny made it clear he was not going to be separated without a fight.
