Feeding POLL?

kyle1745 Jul 26, 2003 01:04 PM

I'm taking a poll on how often do you feed your frogs?

I have head of some people feeding every other day, and others feed everyday. What do you do?

I am currently feeding every day.

I have gone up to 4 days without feeding during a trip. They seem to do all right without being feed necessarily every day.

I prefer Male.Female.CrossDresser more than Male.Female.Unknown... Unknown just sounds so degrading

It may be best for people to ignore this post.

Every day for adults. With baby froglets, I keep visible food in the tank at all times when they are out and active, so often feed 2 to 3 times a day alternating springtails and small fruit flies.

I feed daily, with a variety of foods (termites, FF's, springs, etc...) and dust everything I feed them. Kinda like SPAR I do forget occassionally though. The one thing I do make sure of is that there is always visible food in the froglet tanks. They need a constant food supply.

I feed everyday . . . usually twice each day. I dust ff's every time I feed them (which is the diet staple) but I also supplement with termites (when I can get them), springtails (a few times each week), flour beetle larvae (twice each week), and ants (when I can find the really small ones that my frogs seem to like). If I can find some newly hatched redworms (TINY) in my dad's breeding colony when I visit, I think I'll try that too.

Sounds good, I need to get some crickets to vary my frogs diet a bit. I had read that some people fed every other day, so I thought I would ask what every here does.

Thanks,

for 4 month old tincs

dusted FFs twice a day. Flour beetle larvae once or twice a week. A few spring tails once every couple of weeks when I feel like gathering them in the green house.

Still working on getting more bugs.

Joe,
Put some activied charcoal in one of your clean plastic shoeboxes and go to the greenhouse one last time for springtails. Add them to the shoebox and keep in moist and they'll breed like crazy. When you're ready to feed the frog place a lightly moistened paper towel on top of the charcoal and in a half hour or so it be covered with springtails. Just shake it off into the tank. They're a great food source, and easy to raise. I also have them growing directly in all my tanks.

thanks, I was thinking of doing just that. probably going to use peat moss instead of charcoal since I have tons of it. just need to find something like fish flakes to feed the little buggers.
