Hi, I posted this picture of a snake that I hatched out last year, that I can only believe was the result of a prarie king/ blizzard cal king breeding, and was the only one who hatched. Since I got so much doubt last year about her, and because she DOES look like a pretty albino calligaster, I repeated the breeding this year. The same female was bred with the suspected father, and I witnessed three solid hook ups for several hours at a time. She then laid me 12 healthy-looking eggs about a week ago, and so far, all is well. They are healthy and pink, with blood vessles throughout. So, either all the eggs will go bad (which I don't expect), or they will hatch out completely different than this one, or I will get a few who look like this, and will know that this one is a hybrid. If they all look different than this one, I will really be stumped. Once again, can a het albino produce an albino offspring via parthenogenesis? Has parthenogenesis even been documented with this species? Anyone know if albinism is coallelic between these species? Hopefully, in a few months I will know for sure.
Thanks,
nate.
Ps- I've been calling her the "cal-cal" for calligaster/californiae. She's gotten big and chubby and is doing well.
