Back from vacation and Thraxxis survives-Eye problem??

dianedfisher Feb 09, 2006 02:24 PM

Well, guys, my husband did an excellent job with Thraxxis while I was gone and he appears rehydrated, but thin. He is more settled in his new cage and this morning he was drinking from the dripper at first light. Unfortunately, during this transition to new habitat and the subsequent dehydration and near death experience he shed. He now appears to have dry, unshed skin around both eyes. Any sugestions as to how to assist in removing it? I read mineral oil, but mineral oil is petroleum-based and I'm sure there is something preferable to this??? thanks again for your help. Thraxxis would have perished without your help! Diane

Hi, I read on another forum that someone used cocobutter to help a shed. It was a brand that is all natural and helped shed very fast. Maybe that will help
