1/8 Inch plexi?

kiknskreem Feb 09, 2006 06:13 PM

I'm building a 4 level display rack, each enclosure mreasuring 32x11x14h. Will 1/8th inch plexi be tough enough for a door?

I guess it depends on what you are putting in the enclosures, but 1/8 inch is pretty flimsy. I'd be afraid of it flexing and popping out of the track, or just flexing enough that your snakes could squirm out between the two peices in the middle where they meet.

There won't be any track, the door will be one sheet hinged from the bottom. Medium sized colubrids will be in them.

Frame the plexi and you will be fine. I use the 1/8" sometimes due to its extremely low price and ease of replacing (for scratches and discoloration)
