my red tail enclosure

shysilvrdragon Feb 09, 2006 08:02 PM

This was just an empty room in my home, until I rescued Tommy Girl, an 8 foot long red tailed boa. She has a shelf with a warm hidey spot, an unheated hollow log, and a climbing tree. Under the shelf, which may be hard to see, is another warm hidey spot, her water hole, and varios branch "ladders" she uses to go up and down. I will try to take a better pic.
A friend of mine laid slate tile on the floor, and another friend custom made the door. The door has a built in fan for ventillation, and has 2 locks.
Hope you like.

I would really like to see more pictures of this cage, especially ones where the whole cage fits within the frame so we can get a better idea of just how big it is, how it is constructed, etc.

But it looks great based on what I see here.

Thank you for your nice comments! Its nice to hear from people who are into reptiles. Alot of people around here dont really seem to care too much. In fact, they do not understand why I would put so much time, money and effort into a "silly snake"
I will try to take better pics. Trouble is the shape of the room. I may have to remove the door to do this. It does not open all the way because of her water hole.
Other sad thing is I will probably have to move, due to differences between me and boyfriend. She has noy even been in there for a full year yet. Guess that means I will just have to design a new room
