reptarium

violator May 19, 2003 12:00 AM

i was thinking about getting a reptarium and wondering if 30x30x72 is too big, its for my brooks king which is roughly 24 inches long. oh i will make it so its 72 inchs long. and have heat pad on one side. so would this be an ok size. i want to make him a nice big home now so i dont gotta worry about it later. or should i go for a 30x30x48. the way i see it my brooks is growing longer and not much thicker man when he is a year old he should be huge lol. i have had him for about 3 months and i think he went from 13inchs to 24 or so.
any advice?

This is my first time reading your question since I'm not on here
every day. The 72" tank is not too big as long as you have a
couple of good hides, where he can get completely out of site.
Some young snakes might feel a little nervous about cruising
from one end to the other, but with lots of rocks/bark/aspen
they will travel under cover.

I haven't checked this forum for over a week. Anyway, here's my $.02 worth.

I looked at a small reptarium at a show a year or so back. I just don't trust the zipper fastener to hold a snake, and I also think it'd be impossible to heat without heating the whole room, too.

And a cage 3 x 2 x 1.5 feet is big enough for even a record size brooksi.
