Need some opinions on these Ball Pythons..

jusmebabe Feb 09, 2006 11:30 PM

I may trade for this pair of pastels but wanted some other thoughts on their color. In your opinion are they worth a grand? I know opinions may very and I know what I think but wanted thoughts from those of you who work in balls. I am a chameleon person but liked the look of the male (top pic).
Thanx for any input.

It's 1.1 and the male was in the top I believe which is the brighter of the two. Thanx for your insight.

IMHO no male pastel right now is worth 1k. You can get them for under $500 easy right now, so why would you pay twice as much for one? They look good, but the offspring dont usually reflect the parents... meaning you can buy a grade A pastel for a high price and still only produce low quality pastels. I think it has alot to do with the normal you pair it with really. So investment wise, $1000 for 2.0, why not, $1000 for one, your a fool. Yah yah, save the flames, I know that you guys sitting on 30 males from last year think they are all woth $1k, but there are tons of people who only produced 3 or 4 that they will sell for $400 to $500.

Females are worth $1500 to $2000 though. They will be very nice for Co-Dom to Recessive combos.

Lol, I'm in no way offended. Like I said I breed chameleons not ball pythons. The only ball pythons I like is the pastel, albino, and a few pieds and very few of those.
I just asked a question and got what I wantd, others opinions.
These balls wouldn't mean anything to me as far as breeding (never bed snakes). I'm not paying for them it would be a trade so I have no financial investment.
Thanx Again..

Are you saying a grand each or for the pair? For the pair it would be a good deal even though the female is not really all that nice. If it is a grand for each there is no way. I personally would be willing to pay between $500-600 for the male, and around $700 for the female
