Is it safer to use the 3inch 6watt then to use the 10watt one???Or are they both the same just different watts. I saw someone selling the 6 watt one cause the 10 watt is to dangerous.

All heat tape and heat rope should be on some sort of thermostat. If they are I don't believe either is more dangerous. The 10wt just uses more electricity.

From my experience with flexwatt, failures are due to poor installations, shortcuts, etc. I take the extra steps to do it right and so far I have not had any failures. Nothing to do with the wattage. 3 and 4 inch flexwatt is fairly low wattage, 6-10 watts. Properly install and insulate the connectors and end of the flexwatt, avoid boxes making direct contact, use a good controller and you shouldn't have any problems.

10 watt flexwatt is perfectly safe and can actually do more than the 6 watt depending on the application especially in a back heat setup... And the gentleman you read that from is kind of, off the wall so to speak
