My appreciation... (long)

I just wanted to say THANK YOU!! to everyone here. I really appreciate the friendliness and helpfulness of all of you here. I just learned how really wonderful this forum is after my recent experience with the monitor forum. I have posted in there a few times collecting information about a species of monitor that I had been wanting to acquire. Everyone was very helpful, and I took all their advice into consideration. Some were friendly, but they never seem to be near the friendliness in this forum. Yet, I finally bought one, and posted one of those "yay I got a new lizard, here he is" posts in there and it exploded! If I would have done it here, I'm sure I would have received smiles and congrats and the like. There, I got a bunch of "you are not ready for a monitor" feedback.

I have done my research and I have come to the conclusion that YES, I CAN handle this monitor... but most wont believe me. Now, If I was a new cham owner and was going to get a more diffucult cham to keep... I know you guys wouldn't blast me with "no you cant take care of that one" replies. I have seen you guys in action with newbies here and have seen nothing but positive messages and helpful advice, even if the new cham owner is doing something way off. After their reaction to my innocent post, I don't know if I will go back there for advice if I need it for fear of "I told you so" replies.

So, I just wanted to say THANKS A BUNCH!! Thanks for keeping this forum a positive and friendly atmosphere, even when someone is doing something wrong.

THANK YOU!!!

He's AWESOME ! Very Healthy looking.

As far as forums go, we try very hard to keep them a warm and INVITING place to come and learn and share info, pics, so on.

Discussion, opinions, even (friendly disagreements) are a good thing, and encouraged. Thats how we learn.

It's fine to try and guide someone who may be totally mixed up, or badly informed, as far as the particular care of a species, but it should be done in a tactful and friendly manner as NOT to scare a person off. That is NOT helpful in anyway to anyone.

I totally believe in a "FRIENDLY" atmosphere, makes it much more of a FUN place to learn and share. People here are very kind, and extremely thoughtful, as well as experienced, and knowledgable.

Makes being a moderator a PLEASURE, as well as a chameleon keeper myself

So take your shoes off , kick back and ENJOY the forum, glad to have you
