Cadence is so much better! She has gained quite a bit of weight in the last month. She eats and eats and eats. In fact, she eats so much that she cannot digest it all, and sometimes has whole bugs mixed in with her regular-looking poop. She is really active and looks great. She no longer has that sad, sick look about her eyes. I imagine once she grows back a few of her necks and chins she will slow down on the eating. She is obviously eating too much. I will sit and watch her down amazing quantities, chasing more crickets before she can even swallow what is in her mouth.
Her whole personality changed after becoming gravid. She always used to hang out by the fountain by herself and even slept behind it. I wondered if she was afraid of the older lizards, but never saw anyone hurt her, of any evidence of it. She started coming out more while gravid and now she is out running around with the others and sleeping under the rocks like a normal lizard.
The rest of the gang is doing great, too. Otis just had a nice shed and he is so soft and beautiful. He about bobs his head off every day, but the girls are not interested in him. Saige is the momma's girl, the one who will hop on my hand every time I am working in the cage. And Fawn continues to eat and sleep and work on winning the next fattest lizard contest we have.
And I have been back to working like a dog and wondering when the mass amounts of sick children will slow down. Oh well, there is something to be said of job security!

i am glad everyone is doing well and that cadence is back to her chubby self. my three girls will eat the way she eats and i guess the baby babies do it too. every once in a while ivan eats that way too, storing the crushed up bugs in her fat chin to chase more.
when ivan and gertie are gravid, they act funny too, they run around alot more and they stay up really late. a couple times this past cycle of ivan's i had to put her in her hide spot after the lights went out and she would come back out and continue to run around. now that she is back to normal, she is in bed by 5

I'm relieved to hear that she's doing better. Thanks for the update.

By the way, I'm still waiting for pictures . . .
