You guys got a LOT more snow than we did
I am very disappointed as we ended up with all of about 4" or 5" no snowshoeing anytime soon! WAAA!!!! I know NYC got 2'!! I am so jealous! I wonder if we can sue our weatherman/woman for false advertising?

EASTCOAST RULES *
I'm in South Jersy, about 35- 40 minutes from Atlantic City the casino captital , hehehehe !
I'm closer to Philadelphia than NY. Funny I lived on the east coast all my life, started in Penna. and then came to NJ.
But never visited UP the coast into NY until Oct of this past year. We took the train into madison square garden to see the reunion of the band CREAM.
My first time in NY,
pretty cool. Geesh now I have to continue up the rest of the coastline LOL
Where in NY did you grow up? BOO YANKIES , YAH PHILLIES

wonder why I made that CN connection
I lived on the North Shore of LI until I was 25 (Queens, Port Washington, Stony Brook).
How was that concert??? And WHEN was that concert??? :-O Used to go to the Garden a lot growing up for concerts, circus, horse shows. My Dad lived in NYC and my bro' still does. In fact, hope to be there next month before my little boy comes to live with me (won't want to leave him for a while
Well if you come further up the coast be sure to stop in! Yes, NH has a coast, albeit a very small one.

A while ago I was moderating on the beardie forum, but now PHLdyPayne is and she is from Canada I believe. Maybe you got us confused.
Any way the Cream concert was a couple months before Christmas in the end of Oct. It was very good , but many were disappointed that they did not TRY and sound like Cream did in yesteryears, LOL that was the whole idea of the RE-UNION.
People were sort of mad at Eric Clapton because he played like Eric Clapton Stlye of today. So although it was excellent music as they are all so talened it was just different than CREAM. I love Clapton though any way he wants to play, LOL

I would also be very disappointed in Eric for not playing like he did in the sixties and seventies. People left messages in the London subway and other places. "Clapton is God!!" He invented the sound of 70s and 80s rock of that Gibson Les Paul coming at you through a quadruple stack of Marshall Amplifiers. I really wanted to catch a reunion concert but I would be very disappointed I think. Thanks, Valerie.
I understand, I know what ya mean and why everyone was disappointed. believe me.
We Paid to see CREAM... like others that were there. But the sound was "TODAYS" basically! And your so right, Eric did not use the same guitar or amps as then , so of course the sound would be DIFFERENT than CREAM.
But Clapton is one of my favorites.
*** Hey any luck finding a pretty BIG girl for Zeus yet??

that they are not who they used to be. I know in Clapton's case after losing his son he changed in many personal ways. I have mixed feelings about expecting a band of the 60's 70's to sound like they used to - it might be even MORE disappointing due to technical as well as simple voice changes if they tried to be what/who they no longer are. I grew up in NY and (probably like you, Eve) went to LOTS of concerts in the 60's 70's at the Filmore, Academy of Music, The Garden - (what was the park in NJ that held a lot of outdoor concerts? I recall artists, but not name of venue). Actually, our folks took us to many! The Beatles at Shea Stadium when I was 10 years old!
I was a rock&roll junkie! Now mostly Jazz, Classical and NPR! I am now a NEWFS Junkie! lol!
Anyway, sometimes I think it might be safer to remember the old bands as they were when we were growing up. Say, can we get a subforum for Cham owners who want to chat about other stuff"?? LOL!! jk

They all have such talent and I never saw Cream back then so I was not disappointed LOL
I have seen more concerts now in the past 10 years than when I was younger. I have seen Clapton, and Paul MCartney about 4 times in the past few years, always so awesome.
I just saw the Stones this past fall and a couple times before that. And we saw Simon and Garfunkel (I love) Moody Blues are fantastic live and sounded the same. Another favorite I saw last year was the Eagles, fantastic. Saw Don Henley alone, and the amazing and always fun guy Jethro Tull.
Saw Ringo, and his band last year, very UPBEAT and Fun concert. Saw Santana recently and Dave Matthews (Very Nice) Can't forget ACDC, for the more WILD moods, hehhehee My hubby loves them, just for their crazyness.
My hubby plays guitar seriously, and is very much into music so thats why we hit alot of concerts.
And I also love classical lele, and some decent country type ballets.
Yeah lele I saw them all in Phia, over the bridge from me.
I think the old place you spoke of was probably our old Veterans stadium, it was where our Phillies baseball and Eagles football teams played. But many outdoor concerts were played there. It has since been imploded and both teams got their own stadiums.
Many concerts were also in our old "Spectrum"
Now I'm just a KINGSNAKE JUNKIE LMAO
