Is it OK to feed burms pigeons? Domesticated pigeon I went to the Feed place to get A rabbit and they said A guy comes in fromm time to time and he buys pigeons? My guess is that they are about as good as chickens.

I wouldn't recommend it-pigeons aren't usually a recommended food for any predatory pet(I think it's even recommended against in falconry-I did hear a case about a golden eagle that almost died from a pigeon borne illness).
Domestic might be safer, but as far as how safe, I doubt they'd be "truly" healthy unless dealing with fancy varieties or competitive racers, and they are usually far too expensive to use as food.
healthy domestic pigeons would be OK. But even healthy pigeons are normally loaded with mites, unless the owner treats for them but then you would'nt want to feed birds that are medicated.
The pigeons are domestic flying flights that I have at home the reason I ask is because they breed as quickly as rats and at times when breeding you get birds that you don't want. They are pigeons with a little black on the beak too many feathers of the wrong color in certain places. They are show pigeons but also used for flying. I vaccinate them.
If you raise and vaccinate them yourself it SHOULD be safe-I'm not a vet or expert but that's what I was getting at-unless dealing with show birds too many people don't bother do vaccinate. Raising them yourself makes it much easier to evaluate how healthy your source is.
Do you agree that feeding my pigeons is the same as feeding chickens or maybe even better because the are flyers and have better meat? I will still feed rabbits but some times she gets picky. I just wanted to make sure feeding her the pigeons was ok.
