Today the san diego humane society euthanized 5 iggies because they could not properl maintina them or find homes for them....it is very heart breaking to see such beautiful animals erased forever......

There should be an end to iguanas importation, and an effort to promote domestic farm-raised iguanas to help diminish unwanted and euthanized iguanas.
Tho sad, it is even sadder to see dogs and cats "on deathrow" at certain animal shelters...

We in Virignia and North Carolina are finding it nearly impossible to find homes for iguanas. i believe we are seeing the change to bearded dragons. It is good that people are slowing beginning to realize that iguanas are not children's pets, but this doesn't help the ones already here and the ones that the idiot carnivals will give to children as prizes this summer. Several shelters in Va and NC are taking iguanas with similar results. More education is needed.
