Very nice! I like the butterfly nuchal. Is this snake from north of the Anticline of Arteaga? Isnt that the natural barrier between mexicana and alterna in that area?
I see you been reading Garstka's paper! Yes, generally speaking, alterna = Chihuahua desert, low elevation. Thayeri = Sierra Madre Oriental, high elevation.
If I had to guess, that alterna was likely found on Hwy. 57, which runs north out of Saltillo through prime alterna habitat.
