Hi all
My name is patrick I am new to reptiles and have inherited a young mali name is Nellie that friends could not take care of. I just got a 75 gallon tank to house her in, until I move(live in apartment) and build something massive

contents:
two basking bulbs that heat her rocks to f117-125 50w&100w
48" reptisun bulb what about PowerSUn UV lamp? reptisun is too far away from surface of substrate, fixture is at top of cage, cage is 21" tall, substrate is 4" deep so bulb is 17" or greater from animal. for UV to be effective this should be 10-12" am I correct?
zoomed infrared lamp to help daytime ambient heat temp is mid 60s in the night time, I live in greenville southcarolina
humidity is about 35% during the day 55% night in tank

I am planning on purchasing an undertank heater/ceramic heat emitter with thermostat. does everyone favor zoomed or trex for UTH? what about thermostats? Helix Controls?

substrate is washed playsand, and have been looking into other things as well, as this was sort of rushed setup to meet the needs of the animal, now I have fallen in love with her, and want the very best. I have done lots of reading on the net, joined uro mailing list. will post more pictures soon
look forward to hearing from you all
thanks in advance - >Patrick

Hi Patrick---Your UV lights are close enough just put in some rock formations so they can reach 10-12".The older UV lights get the less effective they are at further distances
