Garter goes insane in cage

windwalkr Feb 13, 2006 02:22 AM

I was turning in for the night, when I heard my garter in the snake cage behind me go nuts. It was like he was trying to run for his life but the glass was not letting him. Fearing that he would hurt himself, I opened his cage and grabbed him. He quickly wrapped his tail around two of my fingers and stayed still huffing so badly he was whistling. He was also flicking his tongue out a mile-a-minute. After a bit he calmed down and his breathing returned to normal, so I put him back in his cage. Has anyone else had a snake go nutso for no apparent reason?

Check real good to see if he has mites. They will make a snake act like that when there's alot of them.
