striped sand boas

robertbp Feb 14, 2006 02:24 AM

A friend of mine has what I believe to be a Kenyan sand boa, which is clearly striped along the back, the stripe is orange...maybe half inch wide, running pretty much along the entire back...looked to be a juvenile / young adult.

My Question is this a pattern mutation, something to do with incubating temps, or some type of a hybrid. He doesn't have internet access and asked me to investigate this snake, one final question, what is the value of such a snake as compared to average kenyan...I realize it's hard to do without a pic. If anyone is interested, I could probably go take a pic and upload on here, probably take a week at least...Thanks for any help, robbie

I have seen examples of striped kenyan sand boas that have been genetic as well as some that were not. There have been proven genetic lines with babies selling between 200 and 600 dollars depending on how wide and sharp the lining is. Hope this helps.
