100% het for albino

Hello, I have a female burm thats 100% het for albino...But what does it mean? whats the 100% het for albino?

The term "het" is short for heterozygous which is a term to describe when an animal has a hidden simple recessive trait.

In short, she has albino genes that don't show in her appearance but if she breeds to an albino male half the offspring will be albino and the other half will be het for albino.

Great question. I actually knew the answer but it's been cleared . I also think this is a good question b/c I know when I first got into snakes (esp. pythons) I always wondered what the "100% het for X", "75% het", and such meant. If you are going to breed your python this is great information, if you don't plan to breed might not be that useful unless you're like me and love to learn. ; )
