Moving in

boswer Feb 14, 2006 07:13 PM

Hey this is my first post..but I have a quick question. My reverse okeetee is about 6 months old now and a little over 16 inches. He's pretty active and is very laid back - lets me pick him up without any problems at all. I was just wondering if he would have any difficulties if I moved him into a 29 gallon tank with plenty of hides. It would probably fit his ego pretty well

As mentioned in a previous post, some snakes stress out with too much space. They just like to stay in one spot and hide. I have not had that problem with anyone from my vast collection, but its just a thought. Although, with lots of hides, like you said, it would work. Good luck

I have a normal 7 month old, 26 inches, and he has been in his 29 gal tank for 3 months. He does very well and is very active and eats waht ever I give him, currently fuzzy mice. If yours is active and doesnt stress when he sees you I don't see why not. On the other hand my 05 snow would not do well in that size tank because she is real secretive and only feeds in her deli cup after dark. Depends on the snakes "personality".
